Park City, Utah (March 16, 2023) – USA Nordic Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined athletes will be traveling to Lahti, Finland, this weekend to compete in different FIS Continental Cup competitions. Men’s and Women’s Ski Jumping will both compete in two Continental Cups, with Men’s Nordic Combined competing three, spanning from March 17-19.

Men’s Nordic Combined Preview
Carter Brubaker, Erik Lynch, Grant Andrews and Niklas Malacinski will compete for Men’s Nordic Combined at the second to last stop in the 2022/2023 FIS Nordic Combined Continental Cup circuit in Lahti, Finland. Prior to traveling to Lahti, Brubaker, Lynch and Andrews all competed at the Men’s Nordic Combined COC’s in Eisenerz, Austria. Brubaker recorded 32nd and 29th place finishes in the two separate HS109/10km COC events. Lynch was then able to card 37th and 32nd place finishes in the HS109/10km COC’s, along with a 6th place finish in the Mixed Team HS109/4x2km COC. Andrews was able to record a new COC personal best, finishing 19th overall during the HS109/10km COC on Sunday, March 5th. Andrews also notched a 34th place finish during the first HS109/10km COC in Eisenerz, along with a 6th place finish in the Mixed Team HS109/4x2km COC. Malacinski competed at the Men’s Nordic Combined World Cup events in Oslo, Norway, last weekend. During the first day of action, Malacinski was able to score his second World Cup points of the season, placing 28th overall in the HS134/10km World Cup. He then ended his time in Oslo with a 35th place finish during the HS134/10km World Cup on Sunday, March 12th.
Men’s Ski Jumping Preview
Tate Frantz will be the sole athlete to represent the United States at the Men’s Ski Jumping Continental Cup events in Lahti, Finland. Earlier this season, Frantz made his World Cup debut in his hometown of Lake Placid, New York. Although he was unable to qualify for the two individual HS128 World Cups, Frantz placed 56th and 57th during both qualification rounds, in a highly contested field. After the Lake Placid World Cups, Frantz was named as an alternate for the Men’s Ski Jumping FIS Nordic Ski World Championships in Planica, Slovenia.
Women’s Ski Jumping Preview
After making her World Cup debut during the FIS Ski Jumping Raw Air Tournament, Cara Larson will represent Women’s Ski Jumping at the Continental Cup events in Lahti, Finland. So far, during the Raw Air Tournament, Larson has carded a 46th place finish in the HS134 Qualification in Oslo and a 51st place finish in the HS140 Qualification in Lillehammer. Prior to the Raw Air Tournament, Larson competed at the World University Games in Lake Placid, New York, where she finished 6th in the Individual and Mixed Team HS100 Events. Larson also added a 5th place finish in the Women’s Ski Jumping Team HS100 Event at the World University Games.
