The world is changing right now and so are the small businesses we hold dear. Our goal is to help these businesses now and rejoice on the other side.
This campaign will highlight our athlete’s and staff’s favorite businesses in ski jumping towns across America, while also providing info on how to support these businesses through the current situation.
As a small non profit, USA Nordic understands the work that goes into each and every one of the businesses listed below. We applaud their tenacity and celebrate their dedication towards each community served.
Today we bring you our favorite burgers joints and breweries.
Burgers + Beer & Wine
Heber Valley Brewing (Heber, UT):
“HVBC was started recently by Clint Jones and Greg Poirer; both USA Nordic alum. They have an incredible space on the north side of Heber’s Main Street. On top of the great space, the beer is arguably my favorite in Utah. Although small batches when you compare to Squatters or Uinta, the quality is tip top and I like that new beers are always going on tap!” – Nick Hendrickson (Head Coach Nordic Combined)

Backdoor Grill (Steamboat Springs, CO):
“This may be my favorite burger joint… anywhere. Backdoor Grill has so many options and all are super tasty. They are located in downtown Steamboat Springs just off Main Street. The place is always packed. I would recommend getting the sweet potato fries with your burger… super tasty.” – Jasper Good (2018 Olympian)

Ray’s Place (Eau Claire, WI):
“This Bar & Grill is one off the most iconic spots in Eau Claire. Ray’s is known for their amazing hot beef and ham sandwiches. The ham has a special honey glaze while the beef is cooked in gravy. Both sandwiches are served with an optional horseradish mustard. I can personally say I have cried numerous times from the mustard, but it is very worth it!” – Andrew Urlaub (National Team Athlete)

Bulldog’s Grill (Wauconda, Ill):
“Just down the street from my house in Wauconda is a place Casey Larson and I frequent because it’s so good, Bulldog’s Grill. It’s a diner style restaurant with awesome burgers.” – Kevin Bickner (2018 Olympian, American distance record holder)
Old Town Cellars (Park City, Utah): “A former ski jumper started this wine company where they blend all the wine in house and serve at a really cool location on Main Street. I’ve found their bottles in the liquor store as well so there’s lots of opportunities to try OTC!” – Nick Hendrickson (Nordic Combined Head Coach)
