How old were you when you started ski jumping or nordic combined?
I was six
Is this your first World Championships experience? If not, how many times have you competed in WSC?
I competed at the 2017 World Championships in Lahti, Finland. I was able to qualify on the Large Hill and it was a great learning experience. Hoping to do a little better this year.
Where do you go to school and what kind of classes are you taking?
I attend the University of Utah (online) and am in Pre Business

I’d rather be a better ski jumper
What is your favorite ski jumping or nordic combined memory?
Setting my Personal Record of 216.5 in Vikersund, Norway was pretty cool.
Describe the feeling of ski jumping in your own words.

What is the result you are most proud of and why?
When I was fourteen I beat Billy Demong at Nationals, that is when I realized I was good and he was bad.
What is one thing which you have been focused on improving which will help you meet these goals?
I have really tried to focus in on what works for me, what do I need to do on a daily basis to make me better on the hill. What workouts work best to what I need to eat the night before a competition.
Who is your role model in the sport?
Taylor Fletcher, I’ve never seen a bigger headcase and I respect that.
To you, what does it mean to be on the World Championship team?
Whenever you get named to any kind of team there’s an immediate expectation I put on myself. Making the World Championship Team is not the goal for me. I need to go perform to the best of my ability for me to achieve any goal I set up for myself.
What do you hope to learn or accomplish at these upcoming World Championships?
Every competition like World Champs is a learning experience, I’ll use it as such but I also think a top 30 result is achievable.
What is something new that you have added to your training repertoire this year?
I started doing blood restriction training with B-Strong out of Park City, Utah. I also started doing some high-intensity interval training on a treadmill once a week.
What are your hobbies outside of skiing?
Long walks and sitting around a campfire

TV melts your brain kiddos
What is your spirit animal?
Myself, I don’t need an animal to be inspired.
Who do you think would win in a fight between a taco and a grilled cheese sandwich, and why?
Grilled cheese, won’t spill.
