- Birthdate August 8, 2000
Born in Leavenworth, WA, to Dan and Tonya, it wasn’t long before Dean and his family picked up and moved to Steamboat Springs, CO, where his love for skiing was initially stoked. By 2018, Dean was named to the U.S. Ski Jumping National Team. In 2020, Dean had his best season to date, finishing 2nd in the Willingen Continental Cup, and laying down the longest jump of his career – 211 meters in Planica, SLO, whilst sustaining a shoulder injury in Wisla, POL. He hopes to one day break the jump record of former teammate, Kevin Bickner.
Scored his first-ever World Cup points during the 2021/22 season at the World Cup in Willingen, Germany. He then represented the United States in Ski Jumping at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing. Scored individual World Cup points twice during the 2022/23 season, placing 27th (Vikersund) and 29th (Lahti) overall.
When he’s not training or competing, Dean enjoys dabbling in other sports such as soccer, skateboarding, biking, and tele-skiing. His friends call him D2.
