The 2018 USA Nordic Summer Soiree has our gratitude soaring to new distances. USA Nordic had a PR (personal record) in fundraising. Thank you to all the entities throughout the community who donated items and experiences and thank you to all those dedicated supporters who swooped ’em up in a fun-filled, out-bid-your-friends-and-neighbors race to raise funds for the USA Nordic athletes. If you needed a dog sitting service, you scored it at in the silent auction. If you wanted to get your hands on (all pun intended) an official pair of 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, Opening Ceremony, cool, fringed, leather, beaded, Team USA gloves, you grabbed them last night. If you enjoyed dinner, music and mingling with the women and men of the USA Nordic ski jumping and Nordic combined National Teams, you were at the right place. If you wanted to witness, athlete, Nita Englund sign her initials to the paintings she painted of ski jumpers to then be auctioned off to raise funds for travel, equipment and coaching, that was the place to be. Last, but not least, if you wanted to go home at the end of the night with the satisfaction of winning the fast and furious bidding on a dream, bucket list, VIP vacation to watch USA Nordic athletes compete this winter in Planica, Slovenia in the awe-inspiring sport of ski flying where their going to fly the length of three football fields, then attending the Summer Soiree is probably already on your list of things to do for a year from now. THANK YOU!
