Park City, Utah (January 2, 2024) – Women’s Ski Jumping wrapped up the FIS Two Nights Tour yesterday, after making stops in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Oberstdorf, Germany. USA Nordic athletes Annika Belshaw, Paige Jones and Sam Macuga were able to compete in the first-ever Women’s World Cup events in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen – December 30th, 2023
The first stop in the Two Nights Tour was in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, as athletes competed in the first-ever Women’s Ski Jumping World Cup events in Garmisch. Action got started on December 30th, as athletes started off with the HS142 Qualification. Paige Jones was the sole athlete to qualify, placing 40th overall with a jump of 103.0 meters for 78.3 points. Sam Macuga placed 48th (101.0 meters, 63.9 points), with Annika Belshaw coming in 50th (96.5 meters, 61.5 points).
Later in the day, during the Individual HS142 World Cup, Jones was able to put together a 109.0 meter jump for 77.0 points. This landed her in 37th place, as she was unable to qualify for the final round, ending her time in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Oberstdorf – January 1st, 2023
The final stop in the Two Nights Tour was in Oberstdorf, Germany, with athletes starting the day off with a HS137 Qualification on January 1st. Jones finished in 42nd (97.0 meters, 69.2 points), with Belshaw coming in 46th (98.0 meters, 63.6 points) and Macuga rounding out things in 52nd (89.5 points, 46.5 points), as all three athletes were unable to qualify for the Individual HS137 World Cup.
