SCHUYLER CLAPP
Ford Sayre Ski Club

I first started ski jumping seven years ago when I was eight years old with Ford Sayre at Oak Hill in Hanover, NH where the coaches are former Olympians Mike and Joe Holland! They had a “bring your friend to jumping” night and one of my friend’s brothers was into it so he told me to tag along with him. I was a bit hesitant at first, but once I went to a few practices in the next year I fell in love with it. The thing I enjoy most about ski jumping is that I get to travel across the country with my family.
One important person I have traveled with in the past is my grandfather, Richard Clapp. He grew up very differently from nowadays and has loved to watch me jump over the years. We have traveled multiple times to the Midwest to jump at Norge. One of our favorite trips was to Junior Nationals at Steamboat Springs, Colorado, last March. I really appreciate our time together and look forward to the future where more memories will be made.
