March 16, 2016 – The USA Nordic Combined team wrapped up their season in Schonach, Germany on March 6th with a two jump and cross country formatted event. In a season shortened by two weeks due to upcoming events, the team competed in a total of 28 World Cup contests from December to March. Bryan Fletcher, a veteran member of the USA Nordic Combined team was very pleased with the results of the event.
“The final event in Schonach was a great experience for team USA as we put two of our team members in the top 30,” Fletcher said. “With my brother Taylor finishing 23rd, and myself coming in at 29th we had an overall successful weekend.”
Fletcher and the entire USA team will use this season as a building block for the future. There is a lot of momentum for the team with some big events on the horizon.
“This year was a building year for this team heading into the world championships in Finland in 2017 and the Olympic games in South Korea in 2018,” Fletcher said. “A lot of the younger guys stepped up and I am very optimistic about the future of USA Nordic Combined.”
