When you talk about honoring or paying homage to those mentors in your life that have so gracefully influenced the positive trajectory of your journey it’s hard for me not to think about all of the gifts I received from the dedicated individuals at the Tri-Norse Ski Club in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. (You all know who you are).
This club was based upon a sheer desire of three crazy Norwegians that immigrated to the United States with a vision of not to create a better life for themselves and their family; but rather to a much higher priority of building a better ski jumping community?!

Imagine that. Priorities straight!
They had no idea that years later they would touch the hearts and mold the souls of so many blessed individuals like myself. For that, I’m forever grateful.
This guy, Ole Arneson Jr. (son of one of the three Norwegian founders), is a living legacy. My hat is off to him and his entire family for their devotion, dedication, and commitment to the sport of ski jumping.
And for dragging me into this…Thank you!
CURATOR’S NOTE- I, for one, am really happy to understand the history and root of the Tri-Norse club name… recognizing the three Norwegians (Tri-Norse) who started it.

Thanks Jahn for honoring my father that way. He always had a soft spot for you & your accomplishments, he was very proud that you gave back to the sport with your years of judging.
I’ll always remember long overnights making snow with outdated equipment & many travels around the central Division with you!
