Kai McKinnon hails from Lake Placid, New York, where she grew up skiing for the New York Ski Educational Foundation (NYSEF).
McKinnon was selected to the 2024 Youth Olympic Games and Junior World Championships teams. McKinnon finished 2nd overall in the Team Sprint HS102/2×4.5 event with Alexa Brabec, bringing home the first-ever medal in a Women’s Nordic Combined team event at Junior Worlds for the United States.
