Nomads no more, USA Nordic is open for business in it’s European branch office. The extension represents exciting progression for the nonprofit organization. Located in Sencur, Slovenia, just a hop, skip and a jump away from the picturesque ski jump venue in Kranj and close to the state-of-the-art Planica ski jumps, host of the 2023 World Championships.
Heretofore, American teams have been relegated to stash stuff and work on work in hotel hallways, common cafes, lodging lobbies, gasthof garages, and coach’s quarters. Now USA Nordic is the proud owner of a perfect space to hang our hat and rock and roll.
Bine Norcic, USA Nordic European General Manager and Ski Jumping Head Coach leads an outstanding, passionate team of coaches. Norcic spearheaded the ingenious idea of opening the branch office and has executed it to flawless fruition. His assistant coaches, Jan Druzina, Igor Cruznar and Uros “Balki” Vrhovec alongside Nordic Combined Head Coach, Martin Bayer, and his assistant coaches; Jan Matura and Thomas Matura have not just a home base but a home away from home base.
In addition to the brick and mortar digs across the pond, USA Nordic has kicked the tires and procured a small fleet of vehicles with which to efficiently transport athletes and skis, not necessarily in that order.
Headquartered in Park City, Utah, USA Nordic has also recently expanded into a bigger office space about a par five from the local, world renown ski jumping venue. if you haven’t come by to just to say “Hi” yet, what are you waiting for? The office view of the legendary ski jumps is idyllic.
Being entrenched in the countryside and the culture of Slovenia gives USA Nordic an opportunity to reciprocate the hospitality the staff and athletes have always received throughout Europe. Let this serve as an invitation to all that next time you’re in the neighborhood and want to KNOCK KNOCK on our door, the “Who’s there?” Will hopefully be YOU.
