The battle for the ski jumping crystal globe begins today in Wisla, Poland. The time has come for the best ski jumpers in the world to take flight. The schedule is as follows:
When to Watch

Saturday November 17th: Men’s Team Event
Sunday November 18th: Men’s Individual Event
Who to Watch
USA Nordic’s Kevin Bickner hopes to maintain his upward trajectory. Bickner was inconsistent at times last season but was able to show his potential with seven top 30 finishes, a 24th place at Ski Flying World Championships, and a very impressive 20th in the Olympic Games. Over the summer Bickner kept things rolling with 10th and 11th place finishes at the Summer Grand Prix. When asked about his goals for the upcoming season, “I would really like to consistently finish in the top 20.” Bickner believes that his results this winter should propel him well into the top 30 of the World Cup overall. 2002 was the last time an American finished in the top 30 of the overall World Cup. That athlete was Alan Alborn.
Another name to watch is Canadian member of our team, Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes. Boyd-Clowes is coming off of a career-best 21st at last year’s Olympic Games. He also had a strong Summer Grand Prix where he boasted three top 12 finishes. “We have prepared well and have high goals for the first part of the winter,” says Boyd-Clowes. When asked about any particular focus this season, Boyd-Clowes says, “Athletes always say they are looking forward to highlight events (World champs/Olympics) but that’s not the case for us, every weekend has our complete focus.”
